About the Artist
Jane Touchie Watercolour and Pastel
In 2015, after the death of her son, Jane Touchie's daughter gave her a little box of watercolour paints. She hadn't made any art since high school. She was blessed in middle age with the discovery of a new passion.
Born in Halifax and raised in Fredericton, Jane studied English and Philosophy in university and then went to medical school. She had a twenty five year career as a family physician. Recently she has moved to the community of Gagetown, New Brunswick.
She is a self taught artist. She has taken in-person and online courses, including those by Rick Surowicsz (watercolour) and Alan Picard (soft pastel). She painted exclusively in watercolour until 2022 when she discovered soft pastel. Rooted in New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada, she focuses on landscapes and semi abstract florals, along with a few foxes.
Jane invites you to join her immersion in beauty, its wonderment, and examination and reinvention of self through Nature.
